Private Stock, Jefferson Airplane.

Welcome to PRIVATE STOCK. Jefferson Airplane was formed in 1965 in San Francisco. Great American band, they released their first album in 1966 and after the released of their second album in February of 1967 "Surrealistic Pillow" they were one of the most influential bands not only in America but also in the rest of the World. They were a big part of the "Summer of Love" as well as the Psychedelic and acid Rock Music movement. They wrote songs protesting social issues, songs with the "just feel good" and relax feeling. Lets check out "Eskimo blue day"

The band line up had many changes. From 1966 to 1970 they produced four albums with this line up.
Grace Slick-vocals,piano,organ.
Marty Balin-vocals,rhythm guitar.
Paul Kantner-rhythm guitar,vocals.
Jack Casady-bass guitar,rhythm guitar,fuzz bass.
Jorma Kaukonen-lead guitar,rhythm guitar,vocals.
Spencer Dryden-drums,percussion's.
Jefferson Airplane music was a different experience and people fell in love with it because the way that make you feel.
Lets check out their appearance in the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour in 1968 this is "Lather".

Jefferson Airplane and Grateful Dead are the first bands from San Francisco that achieve success. Jefferson Airplane produced seven albums and all of them are very good. Here is their Discography:
Jefferson Airplane Takes Off, 1966.
Surrealistic Pillow, 1967.
After Bathing at Baxter's, 1967.
Crown of Creation, 1968.
Volunteers, 1969.
Bark, 1971.
Long John Silver, 1972.
Jefferson Airplane reunion album, 1989.
Here lets check out "white rabbit" live at the Kralingen Festival Holland 1970.

I really love this band and even after they breakup, in 1971 when Marty Balin left they formed Jefferson Starship and in 1974 they released the band first album, "Dragon Fly" and in 1975 Marty Balin came back and they released "Red Octopus" another great album, "Spitfire" was released in 1976.
Their sound is different than the Airplane sound, I like it so much. I recommend these albums all of them are very good and to end this edition of PRIVATE STOCK lets get a sample of Jefferson Starship. This is "with your love" from the 1976 album "spitfire" until next week that's all for now.
