Welcome to PRIVATE STOCK. Neil Young is one of the most respected and influential musicians of his generation. I have respect and admiration for Neil, not only for his talent as a musician, film maker etc. He is socially responsible and involved in environmental issues, politically outspoken. He help many people. Neil began touring and performing in Canada as a solo artist in 1960. He moved to LA in 1966 and with Bruce Palmer, Stephen Stills, Richie Furay and Dewey Martin "Buffalo Springfield" was formed, they released 3 albums, and then break up.

Neil join "CSN" and "Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young was formed.

We have been enjoying his music for four decades, during his long career he has played with many people but we can probably say that his most important musical contributions are "Buffalo Springfield" "Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young" "Neil Young and Crazy Horse" and of course as a solo Artist.
His musical influences are blues, jazz, rock, acoustic folk etc. Some of the musicians that he was influence by are Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Fats Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash etc.

Neil Young music is unique, his sound and style has a signature, the outspoken lyrics, the distinctive guitar work and his tenor singing voice.
The "Rock & Roll Hall of Fame" refers to Neil Young in their website article as;
"Flatly one rock & rolls greatest songwriters and performers" consistently demonstrating "The unbridled passion of an artist who understands that self-renewal is the only way to avoid burning out"
I always have been enjoyed his music and bring a lot of memories, some songs remind me of certain events...

Neil Young have many recognition and awards, these are just some of them:
Canadian Music Hall of Fame- inducted in 1982
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame- inducted twice in 1995 as a solo artist and 1997 with Buffalo Springfield.
He won an Oscar in 1994 for his song Philadelphia for the movie "Philadelphia"
Canada's Walk of Fame- inducted in 2000.
2003- Rolling Stones Magazine listed Neil Young #8 in its ranking of "The 100 Greatest Guitarist of All Time"
Five of his albums in its list of "The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time"
Paste magazine compiled a "Greatest Living Songwriters" list and Neil Young was ranked second behind Bob Dilan.
He is always try to help some one, here he is in a farm aid benefit concert, lets enjoy "My My Hey Hey"
