Private Stock, Jimi Hendrix.
Welcome to PRIVATE STOCK. Jimi Hendrix the greatest guitar player of All Time was born in Seattle, Washington in November 27 of 1942. Before became popular he played with different people in the early 60's like Little Richard's band from 1964 to 1965 then in 1966 in London Chas Chandler the bass guitar of The Animals had a chance to hear Jimi playing and just love the way he play and help Jimi form his band, "The Jimi Hendrix Experience" was formed with this line up:
Jimi Hendrix- guitar, vocals.
Noel Redding- bass guitar.
Mitch Mitchell- drums.
In 1967 the new band released their first album "Are You Experienced".
Here check out The Jimi Hendrix Experience performing "The Wind Cries Mary".
After the released of the first album he was popular in Europe but not in the USA.
His performance at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967 change that and made Jimi very popular as one of the best musicians. Jimi Hendrix music will touch your soul, is not just his guitar, he was a great songwriter and I love his voice he was a great singer too. It makes no difference if he play an electric guitar or acoustic guitar or if he performs alone or with a band, the feeling, the pasion, the vibe, you can called what you want but whetever it was still make my skin go crazy.
Here check out Jimi playing, Hear my Train A Comin'(acoustic).
He has been one of the must influenctial musicians in the history of rock. Jimi was influenced by blues and Jazz musicians, people like B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Albert King, Elmore James, Steve Cropper are some of them. Jimi also love Bob Dylan music. Jimi won many awards, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992 and into the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2005. He has a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame and he is the first person inducted into the Native American Music Hall of Fame. Here enjoy Jimi performing "Red House" at the Isle of Wight festival.
Jimi legacy is huge, his unique sound and incredible live performances made him a legend. Fender Stratocaster was his guitar of choice, and to this day musicians all over the world try to emulate Hendrix.
Jimi died on September 18 of 1970 in London, the circumstances have never been fully explained, we know that he took some of his girlfriend sleeping pills.
after the break up of the "Jimi Hendrix Experience" Jimi formed a new group, "The Band of Gypsys" and the line up was:
